; THE CABLE STEAMER ' . DAMAGED (FBB PBMS ASSOCIATION.) Symtbt, Jane 17. The cable steamer Bherrard Osborne, when half-way to New Zealand, on her journey to repair the cable, met with a terrific gale, and shipped a huge sea, ' which damaged all the deck house and wrecked the electricians' room. The repairs to the latter necessitated a return to Sydney, and it will be three weeks before the damage can be made good. auoklakd, Jane 17. The Alameda arrived from Sydaajr this evening, a day and a-half overdue, having been detained on the voyage by heavy weather. WttLUfoxoN, Jane 17. Up to 9 p.m. the Kokoura had not been seee at tbe Spit, ao that she oannot arrive till to-morroir morning, . Blum 1 , Juoe 17. Arrived, at 8 p.m., Rotomsbana, from Melbourne (11 ih) and Hobart (l&h). She ezperlenoed freah westerly winds to Bobart, thence eiiooantered a heavy easterly gale, with high head sea and dense rains whioh lasted till Sanday night, when tbe weather moderated.
