AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.
MrD. Thomas (late of Matson, Cox and. Go.) reports upon the Live Stook Market for 1 the Asbburton Distriot for the week ending May 7th as follows :— On Tuesday at the Tinwald Yards I held my usual weekly sale of sheep, oattle, and piga. There was a total entry of about 4000 sheep, 60 head of oattle, , and 100 pigs ; of whioh I sold 2636 sheep, 47 oattle, and 87 pigs. Theattendanoe of farmers and dealers was far below the average of late sales, and the stook entered was of inferior quality m most lines, but those of the best quality fit for turnips realised full market rates. The following wore the prioes : For fat merino owns, 5s 8d ; fat aged orossbred ewes, 7s Id, 8s 9d to 9a 4d. In store 2 and 4-tooth mixed ewes and wethers, 10* 5d to 11b fit for putting on turnipß; orossbred lambs, 4s, 4s 2d, 6a 4d to 8s 6d ; merino ewes 3s 6d to 4s 2d ; ram lambs, l\ guinea. In oattle a very dull sale with rates equal to I previous week's. In pigs a full entry. Porkers, 15s ; baaoners, 40s to 445.
