/ Lokdon, April 26. Tbe Bank of England reserve is £15,202,000, being an increase of £246,000 on last week's returns. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 421 per cent. Consols 98£. New Zealand Four Per Cent, Inscribed Stock active •t 104&. LoHDOir. April 28 The wool sales remain very firm and then is a Urge attendance of buyers. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 26th April, 1889 :— Wool— The competition is increasing, and the market is firmer, Up to date 194,000 bales have been sold. Tallow is dull of sale, and has de> dined 9d per cwt since last report. Frozen Meat— The mttton market m qnietj and quotations are unchanged ■ince last report Beef is depressed ; fore and hind quarters are worth 3|d and 4d per lb respectively.
