ALFORD FOREST.
At the annual meeting for e'eotlon of a Sohool Committee at which 17 householders were present, the retiring Chairman Mr W. T. Chapman road the report of attendance of the lato Committee, and alao stated tho o?ad(t balance amounted to £3 IQi 10 j. Ho further said that having been Chairman for the groater part of 15 years ba had determined some one ejjoahould taka hip plape, thoqgh he had boon repeatedly Invited to stand again, ha Intended keeping out of tho Committee for the present. The newly appointed master Mr Oilman wouid arr(7e on May Ist. The result of the ballot waß aa follows:— P. Tlsob, 37; John Moor, 23 j A. W. Smith, 15 ; T. Fagan, 15 ; S. Donk, 8 ; M. Fagan, 8 ; B. Evans, 7 ; D. MoKonaie, 7. Tho Ohnlrnun announoed tbe first six duly eleoted and the ballot for the tie between Messrs Evans and MoKeDgia resulted, Mr Evans, 7 j Mr D. Mohtenzle, 6. Mr Evans balnc; deolared duly elected as member of the Committee. At the subsequent meeting of the Committee JMr Mlohael Fagan wag voted to tbe ohalr, and Mr A. W. Smith was elepted. Treasurer.
