Mr D. Thomas (late of Mat son, Oox and Oo.) reports upon the Live Stock Market for the Ashburton District for tho week ending April 16th aB follows : — On Tuesday at the Ashburton Yards I held my ueual weekly sale of sheep, cattle, and pigs. Tbe total entry for the day compris d about 20,000 sheep, 7 pigs, and 10 cattle, of which I sold 65 rams, 4500 sheep *3 head of oattle tni 7 pigs. The weather was everything that could be wished for, and the attendance of farmers and dealers far above tbe average. The class of sheep entered for the day wai fairly good, and competition for good store sheep brisk. Fat sheep realised from 6a 81 to 9j 6i ; store, 2 and 4-tooth orossbred ewes and wethers, 8s lld ; 4 and 6 and full orossbred ewes, 6a Id to 7s 101 ; uged oroßßbred ewes, 3s 61 to 5s ; mer no ewes 3s 6d to 4* 3d for good sound m< nth ; down to 2a 3d for broken and failing ; crossbred lambs, good sorts, 6s 6d to 7s Id ; small, 5s to 5a 3d; boiling cheap, Is 7d to Is lid. Pigs—Sows m pig, £2 7<* 61; porkers,' 8s ; fat steers, light weights, £4 2s 6d,
