(Received April 13, 1.30 p.m.) Stdww, April 13 The German warship Olga which went ashore during the recent hurricane at Samoa was floated safely off, and arrived here this morning. The Lubeck has also arrived here from Samoa with a large number of German sailors.
It is understood that ali the German troops will be withdrawn, with the exception of 6o men, who will remain to protect the property of German subjects. The AUmeda took forty sick and injured Americans to San Francisco. A large number of the bodies of those drowned from the wrecked vessels have been recovered and buried. The total loss was 143. Great damage was caused by the hurricane throughout the group and it will be fully two years before the islands have recovered from its effects. The natives, especially, feel the hard limes severely. London, April 11. In the House of Commons last night, replying to a question, Sir James Fergnsson said the Federal Council had ] been supplied with copies of treaties bearing on the Bamoan question. The Council had also been assured that the Imperial Government was sensible of the importance of the Imperial and colonial interests involved at Samoa.
