The subjoined receipt was published by ob last season, and is now reprinted at the rtqneat of a lady correspondent who writes ] that she haa misicid a copy of it and tbat a number of her friends would like to get it. Thia is the reoolpt referred to : — Take a gallon of Loraatcea and oat them In quarters and plaoo them m laycra m aa earthenware jar or other suitable vesee', adding a handful of saU to ench layer of fruit. Let them stand for twelve hours ; then drain off the liquor and add two to four onions ellord. Then p^aoe m ft boiler nr stew-pan 2 quarti strong vlnepar, Jib treaole, £lb mustard, 2 table spoonfuls ground alfspiOß, 2 zi ground ginger, and ono teispoonful of Oayeoue pepper, and eet over a clear fire. When the vinegar begins to boil, pat m the tomatoes, and let them boil 15 minutes. Then pboe In bottles or jars and cover while hot.
