M. Meline, having formed a Ministry, proposes to pass the Budget, and prorogue Parliament till after the close of the Exhibition. General Ballot has accepted the portfolio of War m the new Ministry, but several portfolios remain unallotted. The President, M. Sadi-Carnot, is pressing M. De Freycinet, who was Minister of War m the laßt Ministry, to accept the portfolio of Foreign Affairs m M. Meline's Cabinet, The Ministry is generally considered weak, and not likely to last long.
A deputation of the various Executive Commissioners for the Paris Exhibition waited on President Oarnot urging him to endeavor to promote a political trace until the Exhibition is closed, m order that the success of that undertaking may not be interfered with by any possible political changes.
