(FkOM OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT. J The annual meeting of householders was held In the Moant Somers Library to consider the report of the out-going Committee, and to eleot members for the ensuing year. Of the Committee were present: Mown A. E. Peaohe (Chairman), J. Hood (Treasurer), A. Bueohler (Secretary). A. Harvey, K. F. Wright and W. Baston. The mlnates of the Wst meeting being confirmed, the annual report was read, showing a balance of*£l2 lit 8d to the credit of the Committee. Number of books In the Library, 507 ; amount of subscriptions In 1888, £10. The following gentlemen were then elected as members of the Committee : Messrs A. B. Peaohe, J. Hood, W. TCdson. A. Etrvey, W. Eaton, B. H. Peter, A. Baeohler, E F. Wright. •As offioe bearers were chosen: Messrs A. E. Peache, Ghalrman ; J. Hood, Treasurer; A. Baeohler, Secretary. The new Committee retolred to get old books rebound and to purchase as many new woiks ai the financed permitted ; the Secretary to Invite leading firms of book* sellers to supply catalogues and prices of binding. The next Committee meeting to be m a month's time. The harvest weather just now Is all that can be desired, and the reapers and binders are busy all day and nearly all night, so that the crops are rapidly being levelled. I have been Informed that the yield will be very fair. The latest reaping machines seem to give their owners oomptete satisfaction. The Registrar of the University of New Zealand has sent out official notloes to the candidates m the lait November examinations of their paisce and failures, so that we may soon ezpeot to see a detailed sooount of the results. lam gUd to Inform yon thftt our Mount Somers oandldate has been successful m securing his pass. __ _____ — __ __
