ARREST OP A PRIEST. DESPERATE RESISTANCE OF THE PEOPLE. (Prr Pbbss Association.,) ■ London, February S. The Dublin " Freeman's Journal " asserts that Mr Balfour insulted the bearer of a letter from Mr Sexton, M.P., protesting against Mr O'Brien's present treatment. It is believed that Mr Balfour's Secretary, Mr Fisher, was the real offender. Mr Balfour, speaking at Dublin, said that O'Brien alone was answerable if he determined to injnre his health by refusing to wear the prison garb. | London, Fabrniry 4 j Mr A. J. Balfour, Secretary for Ireland, in a speech at Dublin, claimed that outrages and boycotting in Ireland j had greatly decreased since the present Administration. He hoped shortly to proceed with au extension of the drainage system, and also to assist in the extension of railways, with a view to developing the fisheries. Father McFadden, whom the police have been searching for for some time, was arrested yesterday at Gweedore, where he had been, conducting mass.
