ANOTHER LIBEL CASE
. <— (Per Press Association.) Chbisichtjbch. January 21. The Fupreme Court to-day ?s occupied with the libel action brought by J. B, Bosewarne, claiming £500 damages from tec other butobe^a on account of the statements m an advertisement m the "Lyttelton Timep," which were that they were not eellinej frozen mutton saved from the Belfast fire whlc: Bosewarne had purchased, and described the, meat as unattractive and filthy. It appeared that the butchers agreed to publish a disclaimer that they had any of the meat leaving the precise wording to Aherne, a reporter, who framed two sen'ationally worded advertisements. The defence is (1) that the advertisements were not what the butchers intended, and (2) that the statements therein were true.
