Mr Samuel's letter to the Minister for Justice relative to the charges against the BM. is published In the " Herald " today, In whloh Mr Samuel says that great Indignation Is felt by all right-minded and respectable parsons at the attaok made. He goes on to aay tha*- there are m this community some two os three persons of the vilest eharaoter who are utterly unetnpuloni 1 , and possess onooing and audacity, who have for several years past tried to infiuenoe the decisions of the Courts hen In their favor against the respectable portion of the community. The object of these people is to get Mr Rawaon removed with the hope of getting • more pliable or timid Judge In his place, who, with the ■ fate of hit predecessor before him, may be subject to their fcflaences m future. The letter Is a long one, and m conolueim Mr Samuel asks that the names of the " burgestes" who waited on the late mayor may be obtained and published.
