ASHBURTON WOOL SALES
D. Thomas reports upon the above sale aB follows:— On Monday last the second wool saio of the season was held m Auhburton. The various catalogues comprised nearly 1800 bales of various qualities. About the ordinary number of buyers attended, but from the firßt a languid tone prevailed and taken all round, values,, more especially m merino, were not as good as at last sale. First-class crossbred was m demand and realized as much as at the former sale whilst medium crossbred which was considerably heavier and dingier than m December suffered to the extent of £d to |d per lb. Merino ewe wool was not m demand and m this the greatest drop was noticeable.
