ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET

Ohristchuroh. January 16. There was a large entry of fat stock, particularly sheep. The attendance was good and the weather fine though dull, Fat Cattle.— There was nothing of Buperior quality m the yards. The supply was m exoeßß of the demand, several lines being withdrawn. Prime ox beef is worth 163 per lOOlbs ; heifer or oow beef, 12a to 15s. Fat Sheep —Over 9000 were entered. The quality was up to the average. There wbb a general drop equal to about Is per head on the.beßt olasaes. of sheep, and on inferior lots of mixed sexes or ewe mutton only, the drop is still more. Frimest mutton may be quoted at l£d to lfd per lb. Some pioked lines, notably some Lsioestera from Waikari, realised a trifle more than this. Fat Lambs.— There was a large entry of lambs, Prioes remained muoh about the same as last week, good quality being m strong demand. Stobi Sheep.— -There was not a large entry, and what were submitted were rather saorifioed than otherwise. The operations of harvest are presumed to be the oause of the want of buyers of this class of stook. Calves.— A yery small entry of good quality met with a ready market: good vealera fetching up to 28a. Stobe Cattle.— Very Bmall entries and prices unohanged. Pigs.— Small but good entries of stores fetched from 25s to 35a.
