Thlß stone Is In high favor with Melbourne architects, and one of the handsomest building*- lo OolHns street la built m a great measure with the produot of the Mount Somers quarries, while the new exchange to be erected In the Victorian metropolis will contain no less than 2000 tons of this material. At the main entranoe of the Centennial Exhibition Is a handsome fountain surmounted with a soulDtured figure whioh has attraoted a great deal of attention, and the quality of the stone bas earned muoh favorable comment from experts. The looal agenta for this " colonial production " are Messes 0. F. James and Co.
