THE EXPULSION OF A MISSIONARY.

The London Missfonary Society have interviewed the Marquis of Salisbury, urging him to secure to the Rev Jones, who was expelled by the French from Mare, one of the Loyalty Islands, an inquiry into the question before Mr Edgar Leopold Lezard, C.M.G, the English representative at Noumea. M. Goblet, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, declares that the expulsion of Mr Jones was a measure ol joeal policy, and does not justify any qneasiness as lo religious freedom m fhe Islands.
