THE MAHDI TRIUMPHANT.
REPORTED CAPTURE OF EMIN BEY AND STANLEY. (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION ) Suakim, December 14. Osraan Digna has written to General Grenfell, asserting that the Mahdi has conquered the equatorial provinces. Emm Bey resisted to the last, but at length his troops mutinied and delivered him, and a white traveller (supposed to be Stanley) into the hands of the enemy. Osman has sent proofs m support of his assertion. (Raotlved December 15, 12.15 p m.) Suakim, Deoember 14. The letter received by General Greenfell from Osman Digna gives details of the surrender of Emm Bey and a white traveller to the Mahdi, at Lado, on ioth October. Osman Digna encloses a letter from the white traveller who surrendered with Emm Bey, which proves to be a copy of a letter given by the Khedive to Stanley, and intended for Emm Bey. -
