♦ .'■ (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION) Svdnby. December 1. Telegraphic reports from Wilcannia state that rain has fallen in that dis trict, in common with other parts of the colony. Generally speaking the rain will save the late fruits/ and benefit some crops. It will also have the effect of bringing, on new grass, thus saving the stock. The bush fires are now out. Sydnby, December 2. In the far west districts there has been no rain. Mblbottrnk, Decsmber 2. Heavy rains are falling, and there is every appearance of the drought > breaking up. Brisbane, Deoembsr 1. It is still raining. (Received Deoember 3, 12.50 p.m.) Syvnby, December 3. Bepprti from the Central Cumberland district show that serious damage has been done to the fruit crops by the drought. There will be a loss of sixty per cent of apples and grapes. The rains have ceased, and they will not do much good unless more falls. At Armidale, despite the recent rain, the wheat crop is a complete failure. Flour has risen £4 per ton, and hay is selling at £7.i Bread, potatoes, and dairy produce have advanced 50 percent.
