ARRIVAL OF THE RIMUTAKA.

S., Captain j Greenatreet, from Plymouth, at 5 a.m., | { after a passage of 42 days 11 hours. 8e left Plymouth on October 20th, with 335 passengers. She landed 27 fit Tener ffe, Bat Capetown, and 100 at Hnbert, She brings 200 to Nevi Zaalant*. The passage h\9 beea a most eventful one. On November Blh, the day beforo the vessel arrived at Capetown, Miss Duckworth a seoonr!«clasß piasenger, fell oyorbiard. and ires (uy rescued ju t in time by a steerage passenger named: Oavill, who placidly jumped overboard arid kept h?r afloat until a boat arrived noon the scene. Captain Greenstrret bandied his ship remarkably veil, and had her stopped and backed upon the scene in a very B^ort space of time. Mies Duckworth received a very severe shock, but by careful nursing she is muoh improved. Two d ya after this unfortunate Incident when tho vessel was In « heavy gale with cross sea, an A.B, named W, Brooks was washed overboard and drowned. A heavy SB. swell was encountered from November 10th to November 23rd. On November 27th, a saloon passenger, Mr Alexander Forrest, aooountant at the Rational Bank, Danedin, died of apoplexy, and was burled At sea. These accidents marred the enjoyment of the voyage considerably. Toe passengers and offioars subscribed £25 for Oavill as an acknowledgement of bis pluck in reioulng Mfsa Duckworth, and £55 for the mother of the seaman Brooke, she being dependent upon him for support.
