Ghristohuhoh, November 28 4 The weather was beautifully fine to-day. The attendance was, however, small, being chiefly confined to butchers, dealers, and graziers. Fat Cattle.— About 130 head were yarded, and the Bale dragged somewhat, as the quality of the majority was not up to the standard of ppime beef. Anything of that description maintains a firlri prioe, afld the best lines realised fully 18a per lQOlbs, inferior sorts at slightly reduoed quotations. Fat Sheep.— There was but a moderate entry". The demand was good Prime freezers sustained their prioe well, 2£d and a shade over being easily obtainable, while ewe mutton, unless specially guaranteed maiden, was not isp muoh m request. Prime heavy weights Bold well,' a pen of specially fine orqssbreds, suitable fof butchers'' purposes, 108 6d. Some Chatham Island sheep, whioh arrived on Monday, and showed signs of their travel? by sea, aftraoted a good deal of attention, but they require rest to make them suitable for market. Stobe Sheep.— -(There was a wartioulatfy I email entry of store sheep and the sale was most unattraotive, the demand being very small and the quality far below the average. Lambs.— This was a feature of the sale, the number and quality of entries being good, and the trade seemed to appreciate the ohangej? that have taken plaoe, prices ranging from 6s 6d to iSs 6d. Calves.— Some really good vealers Bold well at prices ranging from 14s 6d to 23a 6d while numbers of an inferior olass were difficult to dispose of at muoh lower figures. Pigs. — There was » fair entry and prices •ruled about tho same as last week. Heavy weight pprkers 25a and 36s each.
