ROBBERY FROM A PAWNSHOP

(Pxr Pssss Association.) Auckland, November 27Last night a gang of fonr men broke Into the pawnbroklng premises of Asher, Queen street, near midnight. Constable McCoy noticed one of them, Henry Geo. Edward Meyer, leaving the vioinlty of the establishment with some goods and arrested him on suspicion. About one o'o'ook Sergeant Kelly and Constable MoOoy arrested a second man, Henry ' Benjamin Erasmus Moss. The goods brought to Ikp pillr-* f-St'nn f-o'ndo* carpenters' tools, mattresses, wicker ■ baskets, glove boxes, prize oops, electroplated ware, eto. Something like four sacks full of goods had been taken. At half past two this morning two other men, Alex. Campbell and John Joseph Nash, were arrested. A quantity of goods were found planted on a vacant allotment opposite the free pnblio library, Latkr. The fonr prisoners oharged with burglary were brought before the Police Court tbis morniug and remanded fcr a week. Ball allowed m £400 each. Campbell aaid he oould prove that he was ■lok In bed tbe whole evening. '
