Murray wbb brjught op it the Police Court before three Justices to-day, and committed for trial for breaking Into the house of Hunt, a laborer, at Rlooarton and stealing a cap, coat, trousers and rase r He was sentenced to three months hard labor for his first esoape from Aldington, and to nine months for the seoond. The sentences are onmnlatfoe. He will be ! brought before the Xaiapoi Ooart on the charge of the Mandevllle Hotel burglary to-morrow, and before the Lytteltqn Oourt •n Thursday He made no defenoe, bat •aid that the first time he eso»ped the warder left the door open after patting his tea into his cell. The second time he had told the gaoler he intended to esoape, and did ao jast to show that he coald. A luge crowd atsembled m the courthouse to aertbe prisoner.
