Qaoting the evidence of Maori witnesses, who were present, counsel argued their testimony clearly ahowed Renata'a gestures and words were denunolatory of Airlnl, whom be said he disinherited on account of her marrying a Pakeha. Mr Haggltt submitted that without imputing falsehood to the Arch, deacon he believed the evidence of the witnesses was mistaken, unconsciously colored, and mixed, throngh listening to previous conversations with Airinl and misinterpreting the words and gestures of Renata as being m favor of Mrs Donnelly.
