(2) From the Under-Seoreta-y for Public Works, fowardlng copy of BUI to amend the Pnblic Works Act, which It U proposed to Introduce into Parliament next fesalon.— Received. - (3) From Messrs ( Wilding and Lewie, stating that thoy were unable to obtain certain rates. I;, wsb resolved tj proceed against the owner of the laud.— (4) From Recover Land Revenue, asking to be advieed of the name of the bi^nk the Board transact bmhejs \filb, oj LliciL uiyuoj/ u»u ba ps'cl In wh'ch may become payable to tbe Board under Seotlon 6 of the Lands Act. —Information to be forwarded.— (6) From the Publlo Works Department, Wellington, m reply to Board, stating that the immediate extension of the Upper Asbburton branch railway to Sprlngburn Is delayed pending the handing over of the work of railway construction to the Working Railways department.— (6) From Me W.T. Ohapman, asking fot leave of absenjo for two months — Granted. BOAD WOBK, Mr James Milne interviewed the Board, and asked for some work to be done ou the road leading to bis property on the Downs.— Resolved that the Overaser Inspeot the toad, and report at the next meeting. rOUNKHKPIN*. Mr Fergus, the Poundkeeper, Interviewed the Board with respeot to bij appointment ai Poundkaeper. — It was resolved that the Board adhere to Its former resolution : that if Mr Fergus will keep the Pound for the fees only, the Board will repair the fenoes.— Mr Fergus deollned to do bo. ISNDEBS. Tenders were opened for keeping River Fords In repair for twelve months, and that of Mr W. Gtlbam was accepted , at £18. — Tenders were opened for shingling portion of the cemetery road. — None of them being ooneidered satisfactory, It wag resolved to call fresh tenders. ACCOUNTS. (Accounts amounting to £36 53, were pissed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
