GENDARMES CALLED OUT. j.by blkotbio telegraph— oopybiqht.] (Pkr Press Association.; (Kecelved November 13, 12.40 p.m.) Madrid, November 12 Considerable excitement has been caused m this city by political demonstrations, m which a large number of students and sereral prominent Republicans took part. 3he meetings were held m the streets, at which violent resolutions were passed against Senor Canoras del Cashello and other Conservative leaders. The former, while driving through the city m his carriage, was assailed with a shower of stones, but escaped uninjured. Gendarmes were called out but as the mob showed no inclination to oppose them there was no fighting. Canoras declares the demonstrations are really directed against the monarchy and not against the Conservative party.
