LABOR TROUBLES IN AUCKLAND

The bootmakers strike afc MoArthur and Oo's factory was settled at a conference between the Operatives Uolon and the Manufacturers Association last night. The basil is that Strong,on whose account the dispute arose.pays the fiae inflicted bj the Union, and the men on strike return to work this morning. The Northern Steam Ship Oompany yesterday dlsoharged. the orew from the losa and took on. Union meD. By the end of the present month they nndertake to do the same on all their •teamen. Another dispute has arisen at Me Arthur's and Oo'b boot faotory over • young man who bad been diaoharged some time ago at the instigation of the Union for non payment of . fines and levies. When the dispute with Strong arose this youth waa again taken on and the Union demand his discharge or the payment due. The hands on strike have «H resumed work and it Is expected the fresh difficulty will be amioably arranged.
