Mklboubnb, November 2. Petscb, Doehling and Co., prosecuted for undervaluing a shipment of pianos, were acquitted. The Chambers of Commerce Conference at the mealing to-day passed a resolution supporting the Pacific cable project ; they also resolved to ask the various Colonial Governments to introduce uniform legislation at the first opportunity m their respective Parliaments dealing with trade marks, and patent laws, and to suggest that such proposed legislation shall be on the lines of the Imperial Acts.
