(FBB PRESS ASSOCIATION J Ootober 25 The officers of the Publlo Works Department to be dispensed with before the end of the year are chiefly officers who have been for some monthß past employed on the survey of the deviation of the North Island Trunk Railway to New Plymouth. Dnrlng the laßt two months the Wei Hngton Meat Export Company have eh'pped the following quantities of meat ; — By the Talnul, 6547 carcases of sheep and 201,604' bof botf ; by the Kalkonro, 6540 oaroases of sheep and 150,634^ of beef ; by the Lady Jocelyo, 7607 c»roases of sheep. Total, 23 922 carcases of sheep and 440,4351 bof beef. Hokitiiu, Ootober 25. The Bank of New Zealand has shipped 22000z of gold, valued at £8800. Father Walshe, parish priest at Knmara, sustained severe bruises by a fall from his baggy when going to Watmea. He was uooonsolous threequtrtera of an hour, and subsequently wtß conveyed In a buggy to Kamara. Hla Id juries are believed not to be serious.
