London, October 17. It is reported that Sir Thomas M'llwraith, Premier of Queensland, %
has .intimated to Lord Knutsfordth^at he expects to be consulted m appointing a successor to the late Sir Anthony Musgrave. " Truth" mentions that it is probable either the Marquis of Normanby or the Right. Hon. H. Cecil Raikes will receive the appointment as Governor of Western Australia. London; October 18. Appointments to the various Colonial Governorships now vacant, or about to become vacant, will be. announced during, the week. It is stated that a successor to Sir W. F. Jervois, New Zealand, has been appointed, but up to the present the name has not been allowed to transpire. Lowdow, Ootober 19. The Right Hon. D. Plunket hai declined the Governorship of South Australia.
