At this market on Wedneaday there were fairly large entries of all kinds of stock Weatber exceedingly fine, and the attendance of buyers Interested something above the average.
Fat Oattlb— A heavy entry, the qu »llty on the whole very good. A moderate demand shown, and values, If anything, were a shade easier, A line of very prime heifers cold better than other lines. The values for tbe day ranged at from 17a 6i to 19a 6d per 1001 b, according; to quality, prime bullocks sellIng at from £6 12a 61 to £8 15a per head, medium weights £5 12a 6i to £6 s*, heifers and fat oowa sold at from £4 to £6 Is.
JStorb Cattle — A fair number of three* year-old steers on offer. A small attendanoe of buyers, aud at auction but few sales were made. After tbe sale we learot that the greater p irtlon of the entry was p'aoed privately. Values unalfcared. Daibt Cattle— A small entry, and a moderate enquiry.
Fat Sheep— v full market, the quality b9tng on the wrote gjod. The market opened fairly firm, and throughout busi neas was done at aboot late rates, the primes*; sorts meeting wl h bast enquiry, second-rate quality being a little easier. Shorn sheep, of whioh a good number a r e now coming forward, sold well. The prlme?t crossbred wetheissold at from 16s 61 to 20j per head ; mediom weights, 12s to 14j 63 ; shorn crossbreds sold at from 9i 6d to 12a, merino wethers at from 10s 9J to 15s, being at from 2£d to 3d per lb for aheep m the wool, anorn sheep 2d per lb.
Fat Lambs —A large entry and a good enquiry. Prfrneat sorts sold at from 10 j 3i to lie 9J par head; medium and Inferior, 6a 6d to 8a 95.
ir'TORB Shbep— 4. few Hoes cffarlng, princip%lly hoggets. A good demand was shown, late values being maintained Hoggelß sjld at 8j 3d, 9i and 10j 9i per head.
Pigh— A small entry, late values fully maintained. Porkers at from 21s to 32 j par bead, fully Shi per ib ; stores. 8s 6d to 163.
