FIRE AT DUNEDIN
LOSS OF LIFE. {PIB PRXSS ABBOCATIOS.) DuNEDiir, October 14. A fire occurred about four this morn log In • four-roomed cottage In Union straet, owned and occupied by Michael Fahey, laborer. The Intnatei, oocslstiog of ITahey, his wife and family, escaped with the greatest difficulty, both being burned, the woman to severely that very little hope* are entertained of her recovery. It was doubtful for some time if the children had been got oat. and there was considerable excitement until it was learned- they bad f cooped. There was no Insurance. Nothing is known as to the origin of the file. Lateb. & aun was burnt to death at the fire at Fahey'a. He was a visitor at the place, and bad got oatstde bat went back agato. . The remains were at first supposed to be those of a goat, but later on were ionnd to be those of a single man named Maloney. Mrs Fancy's csee is considered hopeless.
