Lettera were read :— (1) From Mr A Betta asking the Bosrd to allow him a little extra m bis contact for tusioek cutting— The request was not entertained. —(2) From Mepsrs Wilding and Lewi* advising the Board that £2 8a 9ibad been recovered from Mr D. Fitzgerald, being amount expended by the Board la grubbing gorae on road fronting his property, bat as atx months hid elapsed from the time the notioe was served to the action being taken against Mr Fitzgerald. the fine could not be reoovered. SPECIAL MEETING. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the Board, on Tuesday, October 2«rd. to oonslder the following resolutions passed at the annual meeting of ratepayera;—'«That it be a recommendation to the Board to take into consideration if it would be to the interest of the ratepayers to dispense with the day man." 'That it be a recommendation to the Board to make the necessary arrange* rnents to have another member for No. 3 Ward; also to oonslder advice from Messrs Wilding and Lewis re Wakanui oreek. BATE It was resolved to strike a rate, at a special meeting to be held on Tuesday, Ootober 23, of nlne-ilxteeaths of a penny In No. 2 Ward, find five-sixteenths i of a penny m No, 3 Ward, payable In one mm on November 2 ad.
