SOUTH RAKAIA ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting was he'd at the Boards offioe oa Thursday. Present — Messrs Coster (obalrmtn), Lyttelton, Btrlngf allow, and Tamer.
The Clerk's report was read and considered,
Tho Ohalnnan stated that he had instructed the Olerk to have the breaks m plantations filled up with trees, and this had been done. — On the motion of Mr Turner, seconded by Mr Stringfellow, the Chairman's action was approved. It wag deolded to accept Mr Morton's offjr fir timber on the AUord Forest traok.
It was resolved that the water course or dltoh on MoPhatl's road shoald be filed up again. The Ohairman stated that the Rakala settlement wni not referred to with referenoe to the Ootmoil receiving water rice money.
Mr Lyttelton moved and Mr Stringfellow seconded. th*t Mr J Gardiner be offered £10 oloar of all expensed for an aote of land on R.S. 25375, fora gravel pit. — Carried.
Correspondence was received 1 from Messrs dolmen and Loaghrey, stating that Mr Anderson wanted arbitration foi the prioe of tand.
It was deolded to agree to this, and to request Mr John Ollivler to act for the Board.
A dopntatlon from tho Domain Board requested the B a-d to give asslstanoo m clearing away gone, etc, from the large plantation,
On the motion of Mr Oostor, seoonded by Mr Lyttelttn, it was resolved to grant a snm of £20.
The Pouudkeeper wrote sift'ta; that he had sold horses from the Pound which had not paid expenses. The Olerk was instraoted to reply that the Hoard expeot to receive half of all fees ohargeable, and hold the Poundkeeper responsible for the same.
Mr Allan wrote enclosing a list of lands sold on the Aoton Estate, and requesting the alteration to bo made on tho roll
Me Oronln applied for an extension of time to complete hin contract on Ohertiey Boundary road. — Granted.
The Troisary < ffioiala wrote intimating that £114 lla 4i had been paid to the credit or tne Board for village acttlemeat rofands on flulo of aectlona.
The following tendon were aoocpted : — Metnlllag on Baahy Park road : D. Murphy, at U2J por yard. Tmsocklng samo road : W. Stovenaon, »t 6i per ohaln, Tut sicking Sprotts' road: W. Stevenson, at 3Jd per obsin. I'nrmlng road «t Hulfield : Oronin, at 4s ll|d por ohain. Making catlings: D. Ready, at
Aocoonti for £138 12s 8d were pasted for paymont, and the meeting adjourned, there being do bualneaa la connection with the Cemetery.
