London, October 2. English wheat shows a general decline, the average price m the country markets being 32s 3d. The continental market has an upward tendency and the American ia advancing rapidly. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom amounts to 1,252,000 quarters, and for the Continent 700,000. The American visible supply of wheat ' s 31,500,000 bushels. The stock market is generally affected owing to the increasing value of money. Severe snowstorms m the north of England have caused great damage to 1 crops. New consols 98^3.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from their London office, dated October 2nd : —
Wheat— There is an active enquiry, with upward tendency.
