CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday September 28th, 1888 :—

A quieter tone has pervaded the wheat market during the past week, doubtless, m consequence of the slight depression m London quotations. Prioes here, however, suffered less than might have been expected, last week's values being "within a very little," fairly maintained. Quotations as follows : —

Wheat— Prime Hunters and Pearl, 3s 5d to 3s 6d ; tusoan, 3s 6id to 33 7d. Ohiokwheat getting soarce at 2s 6d to 3a for whole, and 2s to 2a 6d for broken.

Oats— Heavy milling, 2a 3d; short bright feed, 2s to 2a Id ; tartars, Is 9d to la lOd ; inferior, Is 7d to -Is Bd.

Babley— Market languid at 4s to 4a 4d for prime malting, seoond quality not enquired for.

Beans and Peas, 2a 9d for the former, and 2s 6d for the latter, with a little demand for seed parcels.

Potatoes — The demand is considerably weaker and lower rates are the rule, 50a at country stations being the outside limit. Daibt Produce — Cheese is somewhat firmer at 3£d to 4d for prime well-shaped and leaves. Butter continues to deoline as spring advanoes and is hard to quit at 8d to 9d.
