Auckland, September 25 A crowd of meo and boya assembled In WakeEeld street opposite Garret Bros, faotory, yeeterday morning, a system of organised annoyance bavlug been Intended against the two men W&uman end Smith, who had returned to work. As soon as the two men oame ou'side the faotory door hootiog commenced, bat no attempt waa made to msl roat them, the presence cf the police having co doubt a deterrent eff-jot. It was estimated by some of the onlookers that the orowd numbered something like 50D9. The mob followed tho men into Q loan Btresfr, -whare the later ent9?ed a tram oar, thuj eluding the others. This evening at five o'clock the orowd again assembled In the street, but It transpired that the men had gone home shortly after three o'olook.
