Another fire, disastrous to the owner of the boose, ocourred at Springburn on Tuesday night last. Mr David Stott, for masy years a resident of this district, had gone on a short visit to Mr McGregor's, and on his return found his cottage and outbuildings completely destroyed. Nothing was tared, and beta? totally uninsured he lows aIL To make the matter worse he had jußt sold his horse the day before, and the proceeds, together with about £8 m notes was m the house at the time. The neighbors are unanimous m their sympathy for the much respected, bat unfortunate, owner. . Mrs Scott commenced a series of revival end evangeUetio services m the Alford Forest school on Friday evening last and a good number attended. She waa assisted by the Bey. t. Allison of Methven. Never before have the people appeared so stirred as by her earnest and strikingly sweet toned voioe. Great good has been felt from her ministrations at Methven and other plaoes. Agricultural work k in full swing, everyone taking advantage of the magnificent weather.
