ASHBURTON CRICKET CLUB.
A meeting ef the Committee was held on Thursday evenings Present— Dr JM. Tweed, vlc9-Preoldent, m the chair, j Messrs G. W. Andrews, T. Sawle, 0. Strange, A. M, Jamleson, J. Sawle, W. B Denshire, If. Mainwaring, Treasurer, and 0. Hawaon, Secretary. The Seoretary of the Aahburton Domain Board forwarded a resolution pas&ed at the meeting held on the 7th Inat, vfz : — "That the Aahburton Cricket Club be allowed the use of & portion of the Domain to be defined by the Board for the purposes of cricket, and that they shall have the control of the land so set aside, with the right to feDOe It off, the description of the fence to be subject to the approval of the Board." It was decided to acknowledge receipt and to thank 'the Board for the powers conferred on thja Olub. Mr Mainwaring proposed that the Ground Committee be authorised to make arrangements for the fencing and to Sabnilt the same to the Dnmaln Board. Seconded by Mr Denshire and carried. Letters were read from the Lancaster Park and United Cricket Olnbs, Ohrlstohurob, stating that they would be pleased to meet this Olub Caring the season, the former wishing to play a match at Ashburton m the third week lv October. Mr Hswson moved that Messrs Denshire, A. Fooks and Jamieson be a Match Committee with power to arrange all matohesi Seconded by Mr Andrews and carried Resolved that the Ground Committee be lmpowered to expend the sum of £2 m any Improvements to the ground that may be found necessary. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to 1 Mr Sawle for the loan of his horse and for the work he has done to the ground. The Secretary apologised for Mr Harrlbob, who was unavoidably absent. A vote of ttuijki to the Onalrman conoluded the business.
