THE SOLDIERS CALLED OUT

WOMEN BAYONETED.

(per press association,) Paris, September 12. A serious affray is reported as having taken place at Limoges, the capital of ,the Department Upper Vienne, between navvies out on strike and the police. The latter attempted to disperse a meeting being held by the navvies, but were set upon and roughly used |by them. Women took part m the affair, and assisted the navvies by throwing boiling water on the police. The soldiers were called out, but not before the police had been disarmed and severely beaten. The military ferociously charged the mob with fixed bayonets, and a large number of the rioters were fearfully wounded. Several women were killed and others terribly mutilated by the bayonets. Eventually the military succeeded m quelling the disturbance and restoring order.
