CORN EXCHANGE.
The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, September 14th, 1888 : - The continued upward tendenoy of London quotations for wheat, although slight, haa been just sufficient to enoourage a little speculation, consequently prioes are a shade firmer, without, however, warranting any material advance iv .quotation. Good sound lines of prime Tuscan can be freely quitted at the top rates of last week's quotations, as follows : — Wheat. — Prime Tuecan, 3a 6d; Hunters' and Pearl, 3s 4d to 3s 6d, Pearl being more favored ; chicken wheat whole, a fair demand at 2s 4d to 2s 6d; broken lots slightly better at 2s to 2s 2d. Oats. — Last week's quotations arc fairly maintained, and good lines are readily placed at 2s ld to 2s 2d for prime milling ; good feed from Is lOd to 2s ld ; inferior lots, about Is 9d. Barley. — A few enquiries for good malting to ship coastwise, have been fairly met at satisfactory priceß, prime, malting, 49 to 4s 4d ; mediom, 3s 9d ; interior lota not inquired for 2s Od to 33 ; for seed aa much as 4a 6d oan be got for choice samples. Grass Seed. — The demand for opring sowing is somewhat slackening, although last week's prices are still required, viz. Ryegrass", maohine dressed, 2s 9d to 3s ; cocksfoot, 3d to 3J; Italian-rye 2d to 2Jd per lb. Potatoes. — A slight improvement is noticeable m values with a moderate demand for Bhipment at 50s to 52s 6d at country stations. _»airt Produce —Quotations nominally remain at last week's rates, with limited enquiry. The above prices are thos6 paid to farmers for delivery, f.0.b., sacks extra.
