TINWALD DISTRICT SCHOOL.
« The Tlnwald School Committee held their usual monthly meeting on August 27 tb, all the members being present except Mr R. Ennts. The Master's report showed a falling off In the attendance for tbe month, owing no doubt to the very wet weather. Correspondence was read from the Rev A. Blake, re holding Sunday school In the school building — It was resolved to Inform Mr Blake that the sohoolroom oonld be had for tbe payment of Is per week. Tenders for the duties of caretaker were considered, and the tender of Mrs MoEvoy was accepted, at £13 for 12 months. It waa decided that In future Mount Somers coal bo used In the school instead of Newcastle ooa!. The Visiting Committee reported that tbe tree planting deolded to be done at the speolal meeting would be completed during the month. They also reported on the general state of the school and grounds. The Chairman explained that Mr R. Ennls had resigned his seat on the Committee on account of bis leaving the sohool diatrlot. — It was decided to take steps to fill up the vaoanoy. Sundry acoounta were passed for payment, and the meeting adj urned till Wednesday, the 26'h September.
