EDUCATION BOARD.
At the meeting of the Education Board on Thursday, the following business ol local interest was transacted : — Mr Den!. M'Oarty wrote, pointing out that tb« proposed site fora new sohool at NewUndi was dangerously neir a stookyard. It w»i deoided to put the matter before tbe donor of the land, with a view to obtaining a site a safe distance from the place complained of. Tenders. -The following tenders was accepted :— Hampstead drainage ; W' Strange, £2 9s per ohain j Westerfinld, artesian well. Barnes and Smith, £7. Bakaia. -The Olerk of Workt waa direoted to to report, If possible, on bil way back from Westerfield and Mounl Somers as to the urinal applied for. The Newland Committee stated that they never allowed the sohoolroom to be used for daubing. Kyle.— The Sohool Committee appl.el for £4 for repairs to the dividing fence. It was resolved to allow £2, leaving the balsnoe to be provided locally. Appointments — The following appointment were made ; Kyle, Mrs Watson, sewing mistress
