TASMANIAN POLITICS.
HOBART, August 17. ) A movement is on foot in Launceston to get the 1 colony annexed by Victoria, on the ground of the incompetence of the Tasmanian Legislators. A want of confidence motion tabled by Mr Nicholas Brown, member for Cumberland, has been negatived. Ministers have announced their intention to withdraw the Property Tax proposals and to introduce a modified scheme.
