MOLTKE'S RESIGNATION.
+ (per press association,) Berlin, August 13, The Emperor William has written to General Count von Moltke a friendly letter accepting his resignation as FieldMarshal of the Imperial Forces. Berlin, August 14 Field-Marshall General Count Von Moltke has been appointed Presi dent of the Nation Defence Commission and has resigned his position as Chief General of the Prussian army staff. He will be succeeded by Lieut General Count Von Waldersee. London, Augußt 14 The resignation by Count von Moltka of his position as head of the Prussian army has created a sensation m Germany. The British Press state that it is alleged Prince Bismarck suspected the Countess Moltke of meddling m politics, and was concerned m designs hostile to himself, and was also intriguing on behalf of those desirous of war.
