MOUNT HUTT ROAD BOARD.
♦ The usual monthly meeting was held on August 9.h. Present— Bfesers Win. McMillan (ohalrman), J. Holmes, J. Jackson, and D. Cameron. Tenders for different repairs on the aoads were opened, and Mr J. Black's acoepted. The Olerk'i report was road and oonsldered. It was decided to oall the attention of the Oounty Council to the damage done by the storm water brought on to the roads by the channels made by the County Council, and to request that the Engineer visit the dittriot at oace that the damage done might be pointed out and steps taken to have it repaired. It was resolved to draw the attention of the railway authorities to a dangerous hole m the track by the railway line. It was decided to get all dangerous holes put right without delay, to make the roads passable till dry weather would permit of fuller repairs being made. It was decided to write to the Oounty Engineer, asking him to have the bridge near the slaughterhouse, Mathven, raised to permit free passage for storm water. In reply to a petition from Mr G. Murdock and others, asking the Board to form the road by the railway, It was not oonalderad advisable to do more than fill any bad holes till Buch time as the storm water could be turned off tha road. A letter from Mr J . Deans, asking the Board to close the roads between R S.'b 17317 and 17318, and between 17319 and 17320, was received. Mr Homes applied to h»7e the road leading from old Methven towards his homeßtead formed, and it was decided that the Clerk report on It at next meeting. Messrs Jack' on and Cameron were appointed a Committee to examine the County Council bylaws for traction engines. Aooountg to the amount of £75 2s 2d were passed for payment,
