CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report for tho week ending Friday, AugUHt 10th, 1888: — In sympathy with London advices, prices for wheat have advanced from l§d to 2d a bushel, and are now finn at our quotations. All available shipping has been taken up, this, however, being limited, no difficulty is likely to occur m securing the necessary carpo. Wheat.— Considerable sales have been made, several large parcels of ex store lots having been treated for. Tuscan commands 2s lid to 23 ll^d ; (holders asking level money. Pearl is worth 2a lOd to 2s lid ; and Hunters, 2s 9d to 23 lOd, Chicken wheat ha? not been effected so much by the rise, 23 to 2i Id being the top values of broken lots, 2s 3d to 2a 4d for whole wheat.

Oats have not been so largely dealt with, 2s to 2s Id is beiDg made for good milling lines, and Is lOd to Is lid for good short feed.

Barley.— The market for the time being is neglected, and last week's quotationa are again applicable. Beans are being passed off at 2s 6d ; peas, 2:3 2d to 2s 4d for feed sorts ; Prussian blues, 2s Gd to 2s Bd.

Gbass Seed.- -A fair local trade is being done up to 33 for extra prime lines, 23 to 2s 3d is the average price for farmers lines. Cocksfoot -r-No alteration is noticeable, 3yd to 3^d being paid for extra good seed, 3d for second quality, Potatoes. — The market is still strong, 45s being paid readily at country stations. Dair-z Produce. — Butter is again m good demand at Od to 10^d for good sorts, second quality is, however dull at 5d to 7d. Cheese has a good steady outlet at 3jd to 3|d for small eizes, and 3d to 3Jd for the larger sorts. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery, f.o.b.— Sacks extra.
