ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.
Mr D. Thomas reports upon the live stook market lor the Aahburton District for the week ending July 10th sb follows : — On Tuesday at the Ashbarton Yards we held our usual weekly sale of sheep, cattle, and pigs. The total entry was about 1500 sheep and 15 cattle ; this small entry was accounted for by the very wet weather and very few people would turn out unless compelled. I sold fat orossbreds, 10s lOd ; merino wethers, 4s 8d to 6a; crossbred ewea m lamb, 8s sd ; oroßsbred mixed eweß and wethers, 9s lid ; oroeabred two-tooth, 7s 9d. There were several lines coming forward but were prevented by the wet. Oattle very dull of sale. On Friday we held our fortnightly sale of sheep skins. There was a good attendance of buyers, and all lots were sold. Good crossbred, 3s 9d to 4s 6d ; medium, 2s 6d to 3s I6d ; merino, Is lOd to 2s lid ; pelts, 6d to Ib.
