ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET
On Wednesday at Addington thore wore heavy entries of fat cattle and sheep, and small entries of store stock. The weather was wet and cold which affected the attendance.
Fat Cattlr — A large entry, principally steers of good quality and weights, the demand only middling, late values undergoing little or no alteration. Steers sold at from £5 to £8, heifera and fat cows from £3 10j to £7 sa, and from 15a to 18s par lOOib may be said to bo current values, varying accord rig to the quulity, fcTOBE CATrLS— A very meagre entry ; no transactions of any note to be re corded.
Dairy Cattle— Also a very limited entry, with little doing. Fat Shbrp—A very full market; qualify, on the whole, firet-rate, though the weather wbb very much against appearances. Market was ino'ined to weakness at the opening, but rallied a little aa it went on, and although there was a little dragging at times late rates were on the who'e quite maintained, with almost an entire clearance, buyers for export opera ting largely. Primes t crossbred wethers sold at from 14s to 16 j, mixed sexes 12s 6d to 14s 9d, crossbred ewes from 8s 9d to 138 6d, merino wethers from 6s 9d to 11s, being from If d to about 2fd per lb, according to the quality. ; Stobb Shbbp— A fairly heavy entry, comprised m a few rather large lines of very prime sheep. The demand was pretty active, all lines selling at fully recent values. Orossbreds m forward oondition made 8s 6d up to 10s 6d per head. Eweß m lamb from 6a 6d to 9» 2d. Pids— A moderate entry, principally baconers and porkers. A good demand shown, and higher sales ruling. Baconers Bold at from 358 to 52<j 6d, potkerß from 20a to 325, stores from 9j 3d to 18s 6d, being at from 3d to 3£d per lb, according to weights and quality.
