(PKR PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, July 3. George Ewart, who had been acquitted on a charge of laroeny, was fodod guilty of another oharge of a similar oharaater, and was remanded for sentence. John Pomeroy, alias William Collins,, was convicted on two oharges of forgery. Sentenoe was deferred. On two other oharges a nolle prostqui waa entered. Wjclliccotor, July 4, The boy MoMlnn, found gulfty of stealing a ring, was aentenoed to six daya 1 Imprisonment and a whipping. Qeorge Ewarr, larceny, waa sentenced to three years. Six previous convfotlont are reoorded against him of petty larceny. John Pomeroy alias Collins, forgery, four years. The prisoner was only dlsoharged m May from serving a aentonoe for a similar offence. James Madden, fradolent bankruptcy, was discharged at the proseonting ooontel, Mr Jelliote, Intl. mated he did not intend to adduce any evidence as the creditors did not now believe that Madden had any 'felonious Intent. In the Supreme Oonrt to-day, Petee Brown and Rlohard Morris Griffiths, oharged with stealing wheat from the Harbor Board's shed at Lyttelton, were acquitted. Dunbdif, Jaly 8. At the Supreme Court, Rosenberg was acquitted for forgery and uttering. In the owe of James Hooper, oharged with feloniously wonndlng with Intent to kill Thomas Block, the jury, after being locked up for two hoqrs, returned a verdict of not guilty of felony, bat gqilty of wounding, Sentence was deferred.
