CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, June 29st, 1888 :— Shipping is quiet, excepting, perhaps, potatoes, which are being forwarded m large quantities both to intercolonial ports and to Sydnsy. The vessels on berth for London are taking all wheat parcels that are coming forward by rail, consequently prices romain firm. Very little is yet being taken from store. Tho vessels now m port are faat filling up, whioh will tend to limit transactions until the arrival of further supply of bottoms. Wheat. — Tuscan still maintains its premier position, and is eagerly taken at 23 9d for prime lines. Pearl has the best enquiry locally, at 2s 8d to 2s B£d. Hunter's While is offering more plentifully than other kinds at 2a 7d to 2s 7£d. Broken ohickwhoat is m full supply at 1b 9d to 2s. Oats. — A dullness prevails for the timo Milling are worth la lid to 2s, and short feed 1b 2d to Is lOd, with but little enquiry. Barley. — There is a slight disposition to purchase really prime lines at 4s 2d to 4s 3d. Second quality, however, is much neglected at 3s 3d to 33 9d. Feed is very dull at Is 9d to 2s. Beans and Peas are without alteration m value or demand. Grass Seed. — An odd line for looal Bowing has been placed at last quotations. Cocksfoot has no alterations m value. Potatoes are m good demand, and 30a m freely given given at country stations, and slightly m advance of this figure where delivery can be liberally arranged, Dairy Produce.— Butter is still m strong demand at 8d to Od for prime lines. Cheese has also improved m valua, Sid being freely paid for seleoted lots. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery f.o.b. Lyttelton, sacks extra.
